Doptyn Privacy Policy

Doptyn ("Doptyn", "we", "us") operates the Doptyn mobile application (the "App") — a social network for gym and fitness enthusiasts. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. By creating an account you agree to this policy.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Doptyn.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Account details: phone number, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), or your Google account if you sign in with Google.
• Profile information: display name, username, date of birth, gender, profile photo, bio, fitness level, fitness goals, workout style, and content interests.
• Dating preferences (optional): if you use dating features, whether you're open to dating and your dating preferences. Depending on what you enter, this may reveal sensitive information; you provide it voluntarily.
• Content you create: photos, 60-second dops, 24-hour stories, transformation photos, captions, comments, text overlays, and audio selections.
• Messages: the content of chats you send, including text, photos, videos, and voice notes. Some messages can be sent in view-once or vanish modes, which limit how long they remain available.
• Gym, trainer, and community activity: gyms you join or follow, trainer affiliations, and community membership.

Information we collect automatically

• Location: if you enable gym check-in, we use your device's precise location only at the moment you check in, to confirm you're near a gym. We do not track your location in the background, and check-in status expires automatically.
• Usage and interaction data: posts, dops, and stories you view, like, save, share, or comment on; swipes and matches; follows; and similar in-app activity, used to rank your feed and recommend content.
• Device and technical data: a push-notification token, session identifiers, approximate connection information, app version, and last-active time. We process IP addresses transiently for security and rate-limiting.

We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to: create and secure your account; operate core features (feed, dops, stories, transformations, streaks, gym communities, dating/matching, and chat); personalize and rank what you see; deliver push notifications you've enabled (including streak, training, and re-engagement reminders); verify your phone or email; keep Doptyn safe (preventing spam, abuse, and fraud, and acting on reports); and comply with legal obligations.

3. How we share information

• With other users: your profile, content, and activity are visible according to the App's features and your settings. Swipe directions are never shown to other users — only mutual matches are revealed. Your email and date of birth are not shown to other users.
• Service providers (processors) who operate the App on our behalf under contract — including cloud hosting and media storage, caching and message-queue infrastructure, and push-notification delivery (which relies on Apple's and Google's standard push services). If you sign in with Google, Google processes your authentication.
• For legal and safety reasons: to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the public, or Doptyn.
• In a business transfer: if Doptyn is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this policy.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. You can delete your account at any time from within the App (Settings → Delete account). When you delete your account, we remove or irreversibly anonymize your personal information (such as email, phone, date of birth, and profile photo) and deactivate your account, except where we must retain limited data to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. If you've uninstalled the App, you can request deletion at doptyn.com/delete-account or by emailing privacy@doptyn.com.

5. Security

We protect data in transit using encryption (HTTPS/TLS), store passwords only as secure hashes, and restrict access to personal data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR, California's CCPA/CPRA, or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise many of these directly in the App, or contact us at privacy@doptyn.com. You may also control location and notification permissions in your device settings.

7. Children

Doptyn is not directed to children or minors. You must be 18 or older to use the App. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and will delete such information if we learn we have collected it.

8. International transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll revise the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide notice in the App. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
